New Guaro Remakes!!!

Here getting ready for the night, i was messing around and got some ideas to remake some songs. So here are three i remade this afternoon, and one i made a while ago but never posted it. Let me know what you think.

La Mafia Rumbera - 1,2,3,4 (Rivera & Guaro Remix) <--- MY Fav Song of the moment but after listening to it bunch of times, i thought the last breakdown is missing something so i added the trumpets and it sounds soooo much better (No offense Robbie)

Minimo - Minidub (Ilario Alicante Logical Remix) (Guaro Remake) <---- I love this track but i found it super hard to mix it in so i decided to make the end the beginning and add some cymbals. Sounds great and much easier to mix lol.

Sebastian Ingrosso - Show Me Kidsos (Jacob van Hage Bootleg Mashup) (Guaro's Extended Mix) <--- Well this is techincally not a remake but whatever still works. The orginal had a bad cut at the end so i extended it.

Steve Angello & Laidback Luke vs Crystal Waters - Be Gypsy (Dj Snake & Dj Mercer Bootleg) (Guaro's Extended Mix) <--- When i posted this I promised to extended it cuz it was far to short so here it is.

Never Have Enough Vacaciones

Guaro here for a very special post. I havent done Feature artist of the week in a loooong time. This is better than that. MTV has IDOL, making an artist as an iconic symbol of the musical society. Well we are doing a little Idol-ing of ourselves in inducting someone into the M&HM Hall of Fame, so he can be honored all the time. The first person to enter the M&HM Hall of Fame is..... The man himself Ilario Alicante!!!

The Italian Superstar Dj was born in 1988 in Livorno, Italy. Being exposed to all kinda of music at a young age from his mother, Ilario grew a natural love for music. Ilario then begins to know the world of the night and that of the dj, and in a first moment has contact with instrumentations "of luck" attempting a hard mix inside of the legendary "cameretta" then continuing to deepen and to improve finally the residence arrives at the Pachamama Club. Here technology and quality ascends, thanks to this new experience, his skills grow to high levels. Hence it begins to attend local very important clubs in Italy, Germany and finally Spain where thanks to the Circoloco and to Cocoon knows and some music enchants, his house has touches of Latin cadences, minimal techno and electronics. From then on he starts to produce this breed of music. While he is making sick music we stumble upon a song that would change our world and introduce us to Mr. Ilario.

This song is the anthem to our life. There are not a lot words that can explain how amazing this song is. It chill and loungey but bouncy. Deep Minimal House. Simply It's Perfection. Now here the amazing song and it's remixes. Who said too much of one thing is bad. You can NEVER have too Vacaciones.

Vacaciones En Chile (Massivedrum Remix) <--- A more progressive version of the song but with all the basics. Too bad it's just a rip but good enough.

Ilario Alicante - Vacaciones En Chile (Chris Way Vocal Edit) <--- Now this one is the Orginal Mix with an amazing spiritual poem.

Vacaciones En Chile (Bizarre R Remix) <--- Just a pinch of electro in it. The bassline in the beginning simply amazing. It also has a splash of classic house vocals.

Vacaciones En Chile (Pirupa Edit Remix) <---- Now this one is probably my favorite mix of Vaca. If you dont know Vaca or know a little about it, this just twists you and throws you into the song and you just get caught sooo off guard.

Vacaciones En Chile (Tenax Gemma Remix) <--- Now this one is Miojo's favorite and I can see why. Not just do you hear an amzing trippy remix of the song but you get treated to Juan Pachanga. Who is Juan..... just listen.

Chanting Near Africa (Original Mix) <--- Another Sic Deep House tune from start to finish.

I Like To Serve <--- If Vaca never existed this song would be my favorite. I would never think Ping Pong and House would ever join forces. Now your probably thinking, did he just say Ping Pong? Well this song is a ping pong match being mixed the great Ilario. Just take a listen.

Now you know why Ilario Alicante is being inducted into the M&HM Hall of fame. Now if you live in South Florida and your interested in Alicante, on November 13 he will be playing at Karu & Y in Miami. You definitely know we are going to be there. Taking Names!!!

Well I havent done it in a while but here it is again. Feature artist of the week. You really might not know who this artist is from just looking at the picture. But you'll be surprised by who it is. Now I dont want you to think i'm arrogant or whatever, but the FEATURE ARTIST OF THE WEEK IS -drum roll- ......... Dj Guaro. LOL yea me. I kinda wanted to share some of my bootlegs to the world and let you amazing viewers to know a little more about one of the guys that brings you GREAT HOUSE regularly (i kno not recently... dont remind me).

The funny thing is alot of my friends dont even know my name, they just call me guaro. LOL So lets start off with that. My name is Sebastian Parra and i was born in the kick ass city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Me being of Colombian background music is a way of life. My career as a Dj all started with a mix cd. One day i just sat down and picked out some songs just for myself, then at a new years party I played it and everyone fell in love with it and wanted more. After making everyone dance and have fun it inspired me to make and play music for everyone to enjoy. With help from my uncle Dj Alex (Number 1 Dj in Illinois btw) I started mixing at parties and formal gatherings. After hearing some music from famous Colombian Dj's like Eric Morillo, and Mario Ochoa, as well as Robbie Rivera I FELL IN LOVE WITH HOUSE. And it all went from there.

So now you a little more about me and now its time for what you've all been waiting for. THE MASSIVELY KICK ASS BOOTLEGS MADE BY THE ONE AND ONLY DJ GUARO!!!

In History there were great battles between great powers. In Greek Mythology it was The Gods vs The Titans. In the Cold War it was the U.S and the Soviet Union. But the biggest one of all time is GUARO VS MIOJO. Now this one is HUUUGE!!! The two guys that have been bringing the greatest house music come together to mix for you. Now you might be lookin at the pic above and wonder why does this pic go with this. Well I took this awesome pic at Ultra. Top 10 Tracks of 2008 (according to me)

who doesn't love lists?

just Google "Top 10" and click around. i assure you you are going to be entertained for a couple of hours.

2008 was a GREAT year for electronic music. many BOMBS (capital letters emphasized) came out this year and many people realized that house music needs to be more mainstream (Hannah Montana, people? C'MON!).

I've put together my favorite tracks that came out this year in order, for your leeching pleasure.

1) Ilario Alicante - Vacaciones en Chile <-this tune caught me off-guard. my life hasn't been the same since i first listened to this. alrite, not like that but really.. this track IS my favorite tune to come out in 2008 for many reasons.

2) Henrik B - Surefire <-i will just quote myself from when i first uploaded this tune in the blog: "Not every track starts off good (they usually build up to the 2 minutes mark, then explode), but Surefire by Henrik B manages to start off powerful and end the same way."

3) Marlo - Alpha <- this is one of those to listen when you need that moment. magical (almost hypnotic) melody and pounding bassline makes this track a crowd-pleaser no matter when played.

4) Steve Angello vs Antonie Clamaran - Get Down, Gipsy Woman (Lui Danzi Remix) <-CLEANEST MASH-UP EVER! this track was created by a good friend of mine, Lui Danzi. i've posted a bunch of remixes of his in a recent post (check out his "Vacaciones en Chile Part 2") but this one caught everyone's attention because of the quality of the remix.

5) Sebastien Leger - Cylo <- Sebastien Leger's quiet release of Cylo/Bambou didn't come as quiet as everyone thought. real tech-house DJs/fans already own these tracks and keep them really close to their hearts.

6) Depeche Mode - The Sinner in Me (Ricardo Villalobos Conclave Remix) <- such a long track. great vocal work, though.

7) Laidback Luke, Roman Salzger - Generation Noise feat. Boogshe (Afrojack Remix) <- Awesome re-work from young Afrojack into one of the best surprises of the year. The climax gets you by surprise with its crazy bassline.

8) Abel Ramos & Miss Melody - Rotterdam City of Love (Axwell Re-Edit) <- this track is still pretty new compared to the rest of the list. it would probably be in a higher spot if i've found it earlier in the year. Axwell is a genius. everybody knows that. This remix just proved me that Axwell's work has no subgenre, he just knows good music.

9) Timo Maas, Santos (Mutant Clan) - Kenesai (Dub Mix) <-this track reminds me of Surefire a lot not because it sounds like it but because of the way it was constructed. Like Surefire, Kenesai starts with the climax and ends just as it started, PERFECT.

10) Gui Boratto & Eyerer - The Beach <- think of this as a rollercoaster. with it's ups and downs. This track has it all when it comes to what a Techno song should sound like.

so, there we have it, folks!

i'm sorry for the lack of NEW tracks. it's the HOLIDAYS!!!! give me a break.

but 2009 is just around the corner and with it comes many new tracks, many new festivals to talk about (ULTRA!!!!!) and more of me talking nonsense.
